Adjacency Audit and Optimizer
The days of measuring space effectiveness by ‘bums in seats’ is over. It is now time to measure what happens in the office. Are your offices bringing the synergy they should?
Audit
With more and more organizations increasing the RTO mandates to 4 or even 5 days per week in office, is it time to test, validate and optimize your adjacencies? With one de-identified data extract from O365, we can provide you with the ability to see if the right groups are sharing space with the right people. Which groups get the greatest value from the other users of the space, and which groups get little or no value? Pre-Covid work demonstrated that having the right adjacencies can have dramatic impact on the collaboration taking place in your office spaces. What changed in your organizational networks while working from home?
Optimizer
We will provide you with our optimizer with your data in it. See which groups get great value from sharing the space with the others there and see which get less or no value. Select a group and see which other groups in the building it has strong relationships with. Drag & drop the group onto another floor and verify that this provides them with greater value. As you drag & drop groups, the entire picture automatically recalculates, access demo.
Floor 2 / Floor strength: see if the floors are “stacked” optimally and drag & drop them, across the building or campus to optimize (secondary proximity)
What value does this bring to the site?
ADJACENCY PLUS+
Interested in knowing what impact simultaneous in-office presence has on your organizational collaboration? Add presence data to the dataset, and we will show you the impact of having groups on-site at the same time. Presence data can be either in the form of badging (requires a turnstile to be accurate), Wi-Fi login, or VPN.

University of Toronto Research Project
What was the impact of working from home and RTO on your organization’s networks and collaboration? Where are you now compared to before this all started?
Together with a research team from U of T’s Rotman School of Business and the Centre for Industrial Relations & HR, we are undertaking a large research study on measuring the impact on organizational collaboration. Never before, have so many organizations been impacted by the same event, all at the same time.
For the purpose of the research, the same, de-identified metadata from O365 is required (calendar, messaging and email). In order to measure the impact of RTO, presence data is required for that time period.
Phases:
- Pre-covid baseline: Jan 2020 through mid-March 2020
- Impact of moving to work from home
- Change during Covid, early to late covid
- Impact of RTO
